Frequently Asked Questions

WHEN?

From Friday April 28 to late on Sunday April 30, 2023 (Labour Day Long Weekend)

WHERE?

Sunday Creek Road in Jimna, a shared land of the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples, just 1hr 45mins minutes from Brisbane. Find the directions in the Event Info section on our website.

WHEN CAN WE ARRIVE?

Gates open at 9am April 28. Please don't arrive any earlier to avoid congestion on the main road.

ARE THERE SINGLE DAY TICKETS AVAILABLE?

Sorry but no. We know that doesn't work for everyone. Please understand, we have a vision for Jungle Love. It's three to four days away from normal life, where you get to know your festival neighbours and make connections. It's a commitment, from start to finish. It isn't a one-dayer where you come in, enjoy the show, and then leave.

HOW ACCESSIBLE IS THE VENUE?

Since the 2022 event, significant improvements to road access have already occured. There is a gravel road between the disability camp and the main stage. We have accessible toilets in the camp site and at the main stage, and one accessible shower at the campsite. All walkways will be lit up at night. Electricity is available for those that need to charge wheelchairs or power sleep apnea machines. Please email us at access@junglelovefestival.com.au to let us know your specific needs. It's important to us that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the Jungle Love experience and we will be continuing to make improvements to the site in years to come.

CAN SOMEONE TRANSFER THEIR TICKET INTO MY NAME?

Yes, you can do it through Tixel.com. Scammer profiles have been rampant during the pandemic selling fake tickets online. We will not accept any fake tickets at the gate. Tixel.com is the only authorised reseller where you can buy legitimate 2nd hand tickets with confidence from people you don't know. Never buy directly from people you have no connection to on Facebook, Instagram, Marketplace, Gumtree etc.

CAN WE BRING COOKERS?

Yes, you can. Please ensure they are raised off the ground and that they are in good working order. If the advice from the Rural Fire Brigade changes and cookers are not allowed we will email all ticket holders to notify.

CAN WE STAY ON THE MONDAY NIGHT AFTER IT ENDS?

Sorry but no, we need to pack everything down and it's hard to do when there are still campers around

ARE THERE CARAVAN WASTE OR PORTABLE CAMPING TOILET DUMP POINTS ON SITE?

We don't have a dump point on-site. The closest one is in Kilcoy about half an hour drive from the festival.

IS IT STILL BYO?

Yes, absolutely, in fact there are no licensed bars or security checkpoints once you get wristbanded. You are free to take your drinks from your campsite to any space around the festival BUT please remember, there is NO GLASS ALLOWED.

HOW MUCH ALCOHOL CAN WE BRING?

Each person can bring the equivalent of two of either a) carton of full strength beer b) two bottles of wine c) one bottle of spirits. Remember to decant your glass into plastic or metal containers. Save your plastic bottles from home instead of buying new ones to save on waste.

CAN WE HAVE CAMPFIRES?

No. Too risky sorry. We will have a few fires going in the festival site near the stages which will be monitored by our fire wardens.

IS IT ALL AGES?

No. It’s 18+. But we are allowing parents to bring their kids (up to the age of 14) however, the young ones must be under supervision at all times. We haven't allowed 15 - 17 year olds because we remember what we were like at that age and it's too risky.

ARE THERE HOT SHOWERS?

Yes! But water is super limited, so please keep them to two minutes max.

WHAT'S THE TOILET SITCH?

We have plumbed toilets across the festival which will be regularly cleaned and maintained by a highly reputable supplier to ensure you have a pleasant loo experience.

WHAT KIND OF WEATHER SHOULD WE PREPARE FOR?

All weather of course. Keep in mind, Jimna is up a mountain range and we are out west of the city so the climate is very different. The days are gorgeous but nights are expected to be chilly, even though it's Spring. Make sure you pack a few really good thick blankets or a Winter sleeping bag. Thermals and a hot water bottle are a great idea. We've been out here building the site during the Winter and it's fine as long as you're prepared. Bring a few extras for your neighbours as there's bound to be someone who packs lightly.

CAN I BRING MY PETS?

That’s a definite no, sorry. Please keep your furry pets at home, it’s easier and safer that way. Guide dogs are permitted however.

WHAT FOOD IS AVAILABLE ON SITE?

We’ll have a range of vendors serving locally sourced produce. There’ll be a range of vego, vegan and GF options.

For the omnivorous humans, vendors will only be serving meats as ethically and sustainably sourced as we can determine.

WILL WE BE PARKING ON THE SLOPE AGAIN?

No. We know it was a bit of a sore point in 2022 with cars getting bogged on the hill and needing a tow out. Lesson learned. All vehicle parking will be up on the flat part of the ridge so you'll be able to come and go easily.

CAN I CAMP NEXT TO MY CAR?

Yes, you will need to select the camping with vehicles ticket option. ALL vehicles entering the site will need to purchase a vehicle pass. To share the costs and reduce emissions, get in touch with your friends to car pool! Chock your car tyres with wood when camped, we don't want any accidents in the campsites with runaway vehicles.

CAN I BRING A CARAVAN?

Yes, you will just need to purchase a large vehicle. If you would like a reserved powered site, you'll need to purchase one through our ticketin page

CAN I BRING A GENE TO POWER MY SITE?

No, sorry. There are no generators permitted in the camping grounds.

ARE THERE ANY POWERED SITES?

Yes, these can be purchased via our ticketing page.

IS CAMPING INCLUDED IN THE TICKET PRICE?

Yes

ARE THERE BAGS OF ICE FOR SALE ON SITE?

Yes

IS THERE AN ATM ON SITE?

Yes

IS THERE ANYWHERE TO CHARGE PHONES?

No there isn't. Bring a big enough power bank to get you through, or recharge off your car battery or a solar set up if you really need your phone. Plan it with your camp crew.

WHAT'S THE PHONE SERVICE LIKE?

Optus - pretty good for calls and texts. Telstra and all other services - basically non-existent.
